Witnesses are being sought following an aggravated burglary in Herne Bay.

Kent Police received a report that on Tuesday 27 November 2018 a property in Brunswick Square was broken into and a teenage boy was assaulted.

Herne Bay’s Local community radio station Radio Cabin 94.6 FM has been shortlisted in the annual national Community Radio Awards.


The station has made the shortlist, which was whittled down from more than 360 entries from 77 stations from every corner of the UK.

A man was freed from his car this morning (30th April 2018) after becoming trapped by a falling tree.

The incident occurred at around 7am in Canterbury Road, Herne – between Curtis Wood Park Road and Curtis Wood Road – when the man became trapped by a tree which fell in the strong winds and hit the car he was travelling in.

A man from Maidstone has been arrested and charged in relation to a burglary which took place in Herne Bay.

Between 1st and 2nd April, a burglary took place at a house in Western Esplanade, Herne Bay. On Sunday (29th April 2018), Thomas Andrew Munday was arrested in Maidstone and later charged with entering the house with intent to steal.

The Canterbury planning committee have rejected discount store Lidl’s application for planning consent to build a new store in Herne Bay. 

At the meeting, which took place this evening, the application was narrowly rejected by 7 to 6.
