Rumours have been circulating about the possibility of the Sainsbury's store on the Altira development opening soon.
The building, just off the Thanet Way near Broomfield, has sat empty since its completion in May 2016. Sainsbury's confirmed in March of that year that they had shelved plans to open the store and said that it could sit empty for up to two years.

Officers from Kent Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with the robbery at Corals bookmakers earlier this week.
The man, who is from Herne Bay, was arrested yesterday (Wednesday 8th November) and remains in police custody.

A woman has been taken to hospital following what has been described as a serious collision on the A290 Pean Hill near Whitstable.
The crash happened at around 10.15pm last night (Wednesday 8th November) when a Volkswagen Polo and a bus collided.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a bookmakers in Herne Bay.
At around 8.20pm yesterday (Monday 6th November), two men entered the Coral shop in Fleetwood Avenue, Herne Bay and reportedly threatened staff with a hammer and stole cash, before making off along Grand Drive.

Police are investigating following a break in at the Esso petrol station in Kings Road, Herne Bay.
It is believed that at around 4.15am this morning (Tuesday 7th November), three people forced their way into the petrol station and made off with a quantity of cigarettes.

It is believed that the bomb disposal team attended the area to investigate.

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision which occurred in Fleetwood Avenue, Herne Bay on Saturday (21st October 2017).
The incident happened shortly before 6.40pm when a grey Volkswagen Passat collided with a girl who was on foot.

It relates to the alleged hacking of a Tunbridge Well based company in April 2017, which resulted in one of its clients making a £25,000 payment to a third party.

Michael Browne, 75, was last seen leaving the home in Beacon Hill, Herne Bay at 8.45am yesterday (Wednesday 11th October).

Officers from Kent Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy following an attempted burglary.
Police were called to a shop in Mortimer Street, Herne Bay just before midnight (Monday 9th October) to reports that someone had smashed a glass panel of a shop door.
