A Herne Bay man has been jailed for assaulting a four year old girl and her mother.
29 year old Paul James Smith of Pier Avenue, Herne Bay was handed a 30 month prison sentence at Canterbury Crown Court for assaulting a mother and her 4 year old daughter.

A Herne Bay man has been jailed for sexual offences committed 20 years ago.
37 year old Scott Goldfinch of Cornwall Road in Herne Bay has been sentenced to six and a half years behind bars following a four day trial for a sexual offence committed in 1996. The victim, a young boy at the time, was left in Goldfinch’s care and only felt able to come forward once an adult.

The Herne Bay Coastal Community Team has launched its ground-breaking Community Raffle aimed at providing much needed cash for local community groups, projects, local events and further fund-raising schemes.
Tickets for the Community Raffle, which aims to raise £20,000, will be on sale at participating retail outlets and restaurants throughout August with the grand draw taking place during the final of Bay Fest on Saturday 26th August at 6pm on the main stage on the Clock Tower Plaza.

The new Sturry By-Pass Plans are out for public consultation.
The proposed road aims to reduce traffic through the centre of Sturry, relieve congestion at the Sturry level crossing and cater for extra traffic from the new housing proposed at Sturry, Broad Oak and at Herne Bay.
