The lastest useful information regarding Covid-19 in the Herne Bay area

The following are details of the Coronavirus guidance which is effective from Wednesday 13th May.

As has always been the case, anyone who has symptoms of coronavirus should continue to self isolate and not leave their house for any reason.

Continue to work from home wherever possible. If you cannot work from home, you should travel to your workplace if it is open. Workplaces should implement the new “COVID-19 Secure" guidelines which are available on the UK Goverment website.

A number of local businesses are offering a delivery service for those who can't, or choose not to go out  during the current pandemic. These are the shops that we are aware are currently offering this service, along with their telephone numbers:

Prime Minister Boris Johnson

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for COVID-19.

Downing street say his symptons are mild and that he is self isolating and will continue to lead the country's fight against COVID-19

What are the symptoms?

The primary symptoms of coronavirus according to the NHS are:

  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

The current government advice is clear - the only way we can reduce the spread of coronavirus is if we all follow some simple steps.

Stay at home

  • Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (where this absolutely cannot be done from home)
  • Stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people
  • Wash your hands as soon as you get home

Anyone can spread the virus.
