Kent Police have charged a man with two burglaries, the most recent of which took place in Herne bay.
On Saturday (3rd February) at around 6:30pm, cash and a wallet were stolen from a house in Ashburn Gardens occupied by elderly residents.
Officers investigating this arrested Anthony Giles, aged 42, of no fixed address. He was charged with burglary and possessing a knife in public.
He has also been charged with an earlier burglary that tool place in St Martin's Church in Canterbury on Thursday 11th January, when money was stolen from a charity box.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates via virtual court on Monday 5th February and was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 5th March 2018.
